	August is Choir & Orchestra Recruitment Month Are you in our area and are interested in joining the North Rome Sanctuary Choir or Orchestra, or both? This is your chance. August is our choir and orchestra recruitment month. If you're interested, please join us for practice on Wednesdays at 6:00pm for the orchestra and 7:00pm for the choir. We also meet before service Sunday evening at 5:15pm. If this is your calling, we need you!
	Labor Day Picnic Sunday, September 5, 4:00PM Lock and Dam Park Our annual Labor Day Picnic will change venue from Alto Park to Lock and Dam Park on the other end of Rome. There will be more activity space for children. We will be in the large pavilion from 4:00-6:00pm. There will be music and games for all ages. If you can bring a covered dish and/or a 2-liter drink, please do so. If you need directions, please call the church office. Directions will also be available in the church lobby closer to the picnic date.

	Pastor Appreciation Day Saturday, September 11, 5:00PM NRCOG Family Life Center Please join us Saturday evening at 5:00PM to honor our pastors Harold and Barbara Jones for 10 years of ministry at North Rome Church of God. All the food groups are preparing the meal, but if you have not been contacted, please bring your favorite covered dish and/or soft drink. Gifts and cards to our pastors are welcome and appreciated. Don't miss this special chance to say thank you and to encourage them as they continue in ministry here at North Rome.
	Coming in the Fall... Food, Coat, and Toy Drives October-November: Food and Coat Drives November-December: Christmas Toy Drive Last year, we were blessed to be able to touch many people with food, coats, and toys at a time when they needed them the most. If you are able to be a blessing this year, please donate a coat or a toy to someone less fortunate. If you would like to donate food, please contact our church office for a list of what items are needed. With your help, we will reach many people this fall. Think about your role now. Help us when it's time to act.
